Cataract surgery can be a wonderful way to restore lost vision due to the development of cataracts.  Cataracts are changes in the ocular lens of the eye, causing vision to be diminished.  Some signs and symptoms of cataracts may be constant foggy vision, being unable to read small letters even with appropriate reading glasses, and increased light sensitivity with inscreased difficulty driving at night due to glare.  Cataracts are mostly an age-related condition and the older an individual, the higher the likelyhood that cataracts are beginning to develop. The following photo illustrates how cataracts can change your vision.

At Columbia Crest Eye Care, we are happy to evaluate and give recommendations for cataract related problems.  Cataract surgery need not be a scary or dauting diagnosis.  There are a number of highly skilled cataract physicians in the area that have performed thousands of procedures.  We are happy to also do follow-up care after your surgery to ensure that vision and healing are appropriate. The most common feedback we get form patients who have had cataract surgery is they wish they would have done it sooner.

Please contact us if you have further questions regarding cataracts, or visit with us at your next appointment.  Also, check out a learning video about cataracts. https://columbiacresteyecare.com/eye-health/patient-education-center.html
